Cathedral HIV and AIDS Task Team

Who we are

We are members of St. George's Cathedral with a commitment to supporting people living with HIV and those who care for them within the Cathedral and the wider Cape Town community.

What we do

We meet monthly at the Cathedral to plan activities and to learn and grow in our understanding of HIV in South Africa.

Our activities include:

• Resources and information board in the Cathedral
• Retreats for carers
• Appreciation Day for carers

We work closely with Fikelela www.fikelela.org.za (meaning 'reach out'), the HIV outreach programme of the Anglican Church in Cape Town on the following:

• AIDS Candlelight Memorial (May)
• World AIDS Day activities (December)
