If you are coming from the southern suburbs: Take De Waal Drive, then the Mill Street exit. Continue on Mill Street, which becomes Orange Street, and turn right into Queen Victoria Street.
If you are coming from the N1: When it divides into two parts, the overhead flyover that goes past the docks on the right, and the left-hand part which stays on ground level, take the ground-level one. Turn left into Heerengracht, which becomes Adderley Street, and continue to the end of the street.
